Our Philosophy on Audits

Audits shouldn't
be about CYA! (Covering Your Arse!) Audits have their place, but they shouldn't be performed just for the sake of it. Traditionally, audits have often been more about ticking boxes and covering arses than proactively improving care! They provide a snapshot of compliance at a specific point in time, but they don't always reflect the ongoing reality of care quality.

As the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission shifts from process-driven monitoring to outcome-driven results, we believe audits should be used as a tool for targeted action when issues are identified, rather than as a blanket approach to every aspect of every standard.
